Prachuap Lunch and Dinner

The plan for dinner tonight is to go back to the street food market for more sticks. Therefore we decided we could fit in lunch today as well. We had gone searching last night for a Pad Thai place that we had seen on an earlier walk. But we couldn't find it so assumed it was only open for breakfast and lunch. Turns out we had not walked far enough last night. It was open at lunch time today and the sign suggested it is open for dinner too.

I had the chicken Pad Thai and Sarah had the pork. Both were very nice. Sarah couldn't eat all hers so I had to help out. 😉 Two dishes and two cokes were only 160 Bhat. $8.30! That's such good value. I can see us going there again tomorrow.

A small but useful bonus with this hotel is it has a drying rack on the balcony. A good chance to wash a few things in the sink and hang them out. It's the small things that matter when you're flash packing. 😂

Our afternoon was spent reading and we played another game of Five Crowns down in the hotel restaurant. A win to me which makes the total holiday score 2 to 1 to me. I may have forgotten to mention the second game played at Kanchanaburi that Sarah thrashed me in.

The visit to the Street Food market was a success tonight. We chose a selection of different sticks including two different pork ones, chicken with pineapple, and spicy beef. Plus a shared mango smoothie again. Yum. 9 sticks and the smoothie was 140 Bhat, just over $7. One of the pork options was quite pink and Sarah thought it wasn't cooked. I thought it was so had them both. We will see who was right tomorrow. 🤞😳

As we were about to leave the market we spotted a beautiful pedigree golden retriever. The first well kept pet type dog that we've seen. Most of the dogs around look like they have no home or at best have a home but don't know who their parents are. But this one was lovely and friendly so got a big pat from us both. Oh and he was sitting on a sidecar type tuk tuk. His owner didn't speak English but Sarah managed to work out that the dog was two years old.

We have had a lovely relaxing day here and it has turned out to be a good choice as a destination. The walk this morning up past the monkeys was an interesting if slightly stressful activity. Certainly a memorable one. The rest of the day spent swimming, reading and eating. Yep a pretty nice day. One more day here tomorrow with another morning activity lined up.
