One Night in Bangkok
Is it just me or do others take their favourite coffee cup and instant coffee on holiday with them? 😂☕ It just seemed a logical thing to do when I was packing my bag. I've done well to ration it such that the last teaspoon was consumed today.
Finally I can title a step "One Night in Bangkok" as this is our last night in Thailand before we fly out tomorrow. Yes I know it's our second or fifth night depending on how you do your counting. But as of this second we have just one night left in Bangkok. I had no idea that the 1984 musical Chess, that featured that song, had such an ABBA connection. You learn new things everyday. I also didn't know that Bangkok is known as the City of Angels. I always assumed Los Angeles would claim that.
We have developed a reliable system of returning to restaurants if they are good the first time. So tonight we went back to the Burmese one from last night. We had to have the Chicken Mataba again and because it takes 20 minutes to prepare we had time for a Biryani (without chicken), and a fried Chicken noodle dish. Both were nice as was the Mataba. We added a Thai cola and Thai fanta to wash things down. Somewhere near the end of the meal I found something super spicy in one of the small side coleslaw type dishes. My mouth was on fire for a few minutes and I needed some of Sarah's fanta to put it out. 🥵 Total cost was 337 Bhat ($17.50) which seemed far too cheap so some extra went into their tip box. On the street on, the way back, we found the roti stall woman so we took a chocolate and banana roti back for dessert. It was yummy!
