Final Day in Our Beach Side Paradise
It’s our last day in Agios Prokopios. It has been a great place to visit and stay, but all good things come to an end. The last day might not be the best, as we woke up to big clouds and strong winds. It’s definitely cooler—the forecast high is only 25°C.
Good walking weather though, so we headed back to Agia Anna, as that had been a nice walk the other morning. There were a couple of geocaches along the way too. I hadn’t checked the map the previous day. We opted not to look for one for fear of ticks in the trees, the second was missing, but we did find the third. It was at the little church on the headland.
That also meant walking past the clothes-optional part of the beach again. Bad idea! 😱🤮
Other than having our eyesight permanently damaged, the walk was great. 😂 We stopped at a different bakery to buy something for lunch and picked up more water from the supermarket. Buying water is such a faff. We’re looking forward to just turning on the tap again at home. That said, we’ll be buying drinking water for the rest of our trip, I think. The downside of travelling in lower-cost countries—not that Greece really counts as low-cost.
Once the walk was done we were quite hot, so we went for a quick pool swim to cool off. Afterwards, I had coffee while watching the end of an exciting Broncos rugby league game.
The pastries we’d bought for lunch turned out to be very nice. Sarah reheated them in the oven. One was chicken and the other Naxian cheese. The bakery called them pies, but they didn’t look like New Zealand pies.
Later in the afternoon we went down for one last swim. But with the wind and the slightly lower temperature today, we didn’t stay long—it was on the cooler side.
Dinner tonight was two solo efforts to use up leftovers. I had cheese and eggs on toast plus some spaghetti. It was tasty enough, but it felt more like a breakfast meal. 😂
A short bag-packing session rounded out the day before we settled in with a bit of TV.
